About

The predecessor was Korea Investment Finance, established in 1971.
In 1990, with the enactment of the Act on the Merger and Conversion of Financial Institutions, a full review of conversion into a bank was undertaken, and after receiving final approval from the authorities, Hana Bank began its first operations in July 1991.
Hana Finance was established in 1996, and in July of the same year, the Shanghai office in China was opened, followed by the Singapore office in September.
In June 1998, Chungcheong Bank was acquired and merged, followed by Boram Bank in January 1999, Seoul Bank in 2002, and Korea Investment & Securities in 2005.
On December 1, 2005, with the launch of Hana Financial Group with Hana Financial Holdings as its parent company, it was incorporated as an affiliate.
On September 1, 2015, it merged with Korea Exchange Bank and changed its name to KEB Hana Bank.
Its main businesses include deposits, loans, trusts, credit cards, and bancassurance.
The head office is located at 35 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul (Euljiro 1-ga 101-1).
On February 3, 2020, the name was changed to Hana Bank.
