About
- The predecessor was Korea Investment Finance, established in 1971.
- In 1990, with the enactment of the Act on the Merger and Conversion of Financial Institutions, a full review of conversion into a bank was undertaken, and after receiving final approval from the authorities, Hana Bank began its first operations in July 1991.
- Hana Finance was established in 1996, and in July of the same year, the Shanghai office in China was opened, followed by the Singapore office in September.
- In June 1998, Chungcheong Bank was acquired and merged, followed by Boram Bank in January 1999, Seoul Bank in 2002, and Korea Investment & Securities in 2005.
- On December 1, 2005, with the launch of Hana Financial Group with Hana Financial Holdings as its parent company, it was incorporated as an affiliate.
- On September 1, 2015, it merged with Korea Exchange Bank and changed its name to KEB Hana Bank.
- Its main businesses include deposits, loans, trusts, credit cards, and bancassurance.
- The head office is located at 35 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul (Euljiro 1-ga 101-1).
- On February 3, 2020, the name was changed to Hana Bank.
