Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Montem Flumen Inc., the owner and operator of Korea Easy ("keasy," "we," or "us"), collects, uses, and discloses information about you.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use our website, mobile and web applications, and other online products and services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, our "Services"), contact our support team, engage with us on social media, or otherwise interact with us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will revise the date above and, when appropriate, notify you (for example, via banner notice or email). We encourage you to review this Policy regularly to remain informed about our data practices and your choices.

1. Collection of Information

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly, for example when you:

  • Create an account or profile
  • Purchase a membership, advertisement, or physical product
  • Post or list services, join or create community groups, or submit a professional profile
  • Request customer support or contact us
  • Participate in promotions, events, or surveys
  • Communicate with us via email or third-party platforms (e.g., KakaoTalk, WhatsApp)

Information we collect may include:

  • Personal identifiers: name, display name, username, phone number, and email address
  • Professional or business information: business registration number, license/certification ID, company name, and service details
  • Profile and content data: photos, videos, posts, community links, bios, and any other material you upload
  • Payment-related information: billing address, transaction amount, item description, and timestamps
  • Content you write: community posts, guides, and the messages you send in community chat rooms and direct conversations

Messages you send are stored so the conversation can be delivered and shown to the people in it. Community room history is limited to the last 24 hours for members. We do not read your conversations to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell them.

When you report a message or a post, the reported content, who reported it, and who wrote it are made available to our moderators so the report can be acted on. When you block someone, we store which account you blocked so we can stop their content reaching you. You can see and undo your blocks in the Keasy app under Settings, then Blocked Users.

Note: We do not directly collect or store credit-card or banking data. All payments are processed securely through licensed providers such as Toss Payments, subject to their privacy terms.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the Services, we automatically collect:

  • Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, features used, clicks, and time spent
  • Device and network data: IP address, device ID, browser type, operating system, app version, and mobile network
  • Transactional data: purchase date, amount, product ID, payment status
  • Log and diagnostic data: crash logs, access times, referral URLs, and error reports

Mobile App Permissions

The Keasy mobile app asks for the following device permissions. Each one is optional, is requested only at the moment the feature needs it, and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.

  • Photo library: so you can choose an existing image as your profile picture or attach it to content you post. We access only the items you pick.
  • Camera: so you can take a new photo for your profile picture or your content instead of choosing a saved one.
  • Location (while using the app): so we can show jobs, events and places near you and sort them by distance. We use your approximate position to rank what you see; we do not track your location in the background and we do not store a history of where you have been.
  • Notifications: so we can alert you about messages, replies and order updates. If you allow them, we store a push token that identifies your device to the notification service. Turning notifications off removes it.

2. Use of Information

We use collected information to:

  1. Provide and operate the Services, including user accounts, listings, community groups, and guides
  2. Verify professionals and businesses (e.g., real-estate agents, car dealers)
  3. Process transactions, issue invoices/receipts, and handle refunds via Toss Payments
  4. Send service messages such as confirmations, technical notices, or policy updates
  5. Communicate marketing or promotional news (you may opt out anytime)
  6. Analyze trends and usage to improve functionality and safety
  7. Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and illegal activities
  8. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance (e.g., consumer-protection and tax laws)
  9. Fulfill any purpose described to you at the time of collection

3. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only as described below:

With Other Users

When you publish content or join community groups, certain data (e.g., name, photo, profile info) becomes visible to others.

With Service Providers

We engage trusted vendors for hosting, storage, analytics, content delivery, payment processing, email delivery, AI assistance, and customer support, for example Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), Cloudflare (DNS, network security, and cookieless website analytics), Toss Payments (payment processing), and DeepSeek (the optional Keasy AI assistant: the messages you send are PII-scrubbed first and, because DeepSeek's servers are outside South Korea, are transferred only after you give the separate in-app cross-border transfer consent under PIPA Article 17; you can withdraw it anytime in Settings). They access data only to perform contracted services under confidentiality agreements.

For Legal Reasons

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms; or to protect rights, property, and safety of Keasy, our users, or others.

Business Transfers

In case of merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

With Your Consent or Direction

We may share data when you instruct us to do so (for example, when you choose to share contact info with a professional).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies: required for login and security
  • Analytics cookies: optional and opt-in: set only if you enable "Analytics" in our cookie banner, to understand aggregate usage. We use two providers: Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, always on, described below) and Google Analytics 4 (product analytics, only active after you allow analytics cookies, described below).
  • Functional cookies: to save preferences such as language
  • Advertising cookies: none presently; if introduced, you will be notified and may opt out

Most browsers automatically accept cookies. You can disable them, but certain features may not work correctly.

Cookieless website analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate traffic such as page views, referring sites, and approximate country. It does not use cookies, does not store any information on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not track you across other websites. It collects only anonymous, aggregated measurements and never identifies you personally, so it operates without requiring your consent.

Product analytics (Google Analytics 4). If, and only if, you allow analytics cookies in our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how the product is used across the whole site (which pages are viewed and how people move between them) so we can improve it. Google processes this data on servers outside Korea, including in the United States. Where you are signed in, hits carry your pseudonymous account ID so we can measure your journey; we never send your email address or username to Google, and we do not enable Google's advertising or remarketing features. You can withdraw consent at any time from the Cookie Policy page, which stops all Google Analytics collection immediately. See our Cookie Policy for the full list of cookies.

Third-party news content. Some pages display headlines, excerpts, and preview images from third-party news publishers, with links to the original articles. The news data itself is retrieved by our servers: we do not send your personal data to the news provider. However, the preview images are loaded by your browser directly from each publisher's servers, so those publishers (like any website serving an image) receive standard technical request data such as your IP address and browser type. No Keasy account information is shared with them, and no cookies are set by us as part of this feature. Clicking a headline takes you to the publisher's own website, which is governed by that publisher's privacy policy.

Local storage of Keasy AI chats. If you use the Keasy AI assistant, your recent conversations (your messages and the assistant's replies) are saved in your browser's local storage on this device, not in cookies and not for tracking, so you can reopen past chats from the assistant's sidebar. This history stays on your device and is not transmitted to us through this mechanism; the messages you actively send to the assistant are processed separately as described in the in-app cross-border transfer consent. You can delete any conversation at any time from the assistant's sidebar, or remove them all by clearing this site's data in your browser. On a shared device or browser profile, anyone using the same browser may be able to view this saved history.

7. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes stated here or as required by law:

CategoryTypical Retention Period
Account dataUntil account deletion + up to 1 year for security/audit
Payment and contract records5 years (Korean E-commerce law)
Consumer complaints/disputes3 years
Advertisement records6 months
Verification documentsDeleted after validation or per law
Backups and logsShort-term rotation for security (≤ 6 months)

When no longer required, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Account Information

You may access, correct, or delete your account at any time by logging in or emailing contact@koreaeasy.org. Some data must be retained for legal or accounting purposes.

Communications

You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking "Unsubscribe" or contacting support@koreaeasy.org. You will still receive essential service notices.

Data Rights (Under PIPA, CCPA and GDPR)

Subject to law, you may request:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction or objection to certain processing
  • Data portability

Submit requests to contact@koreaeasy.org. We verify identity and respond within statutory time limits.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it in accordance with applicable law.

Under the Korean Personal Information Protection Act, a user under the age of 14 must have the consent of their legal guardian before we may collect or use their personal information. If you are under 14, please do not use the Services without that consent.

Features involving payment, including the Keasy marketplace and paid memberships, are restricted to users aged 18 and over.

10. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including:

  • TLS encryption in transit
  • Access controls and multi-factor authentication for employees
  • Regular vulnerability testing and monitoring
  • Secure data centers operated by reputable providers

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the Services at your own risk. If a breach occurs, we will notify affected users as required by law.
